About Me
I love food.
Both my private + professional lives revolve around food.
My travel is based around restaurants - chefs - markets + food festivals.
I have grown food in large and tiny gardens since I was 15 - and still growing.
I started with my first cookbook at 12 - and still collecting.
I find pleasure + solace + expression in cooking.
I cook for myself - strangers - friends + family.
Sharing food opens doors + hearts + minds.
Food is physical + psychological + anthropological + historical + inspirational.
Food speaks all languages.
I am grateful for my life spent cooking and working in the restaurant biz.
I am proud of my restaurants ( ASTI Trattoria and FINO Restaurant Patio & Bar in Austin, Texas) and the like minded people who work with me.
Being a restaurant owner puts me in a special position to teach what I have learned over the years and to continue learning from my up and coming chefs and cooks.
