L.A. E A T S
ok !
i admit i am a big fan of mario batali.
when in new york i must eat at his restaurants. so it was only natural that i have been wanting to check out his collaboration with the talented nancy silverton at Mozza pizzeria.
what a great excuse for a long weekend in L.A.

upon arrival at LAX we hop in our prius and head straight for lunch at Mozza.
we order Prosecco at the bar and are seated promptly for our 2:30 reservation. we begin to order.

fried zucchini blossoms stuffed with ricotta.

meatballs with olive oil drenched toasted bread.

bone marrow with the perfect condiments of garlic confit - sea salt - crostini & celery leaf + parsley salad.
great first round ! more prosecco please !

we must try the chicken liver bruschetta with crispy guianciale.

a cleanser course of rocket with piave cheese.
we move on to a most delicious lambrusco. yes ! there is such a thing !
well the waiter is on to us. yes - we are in the biz.
and in the culinary comraderie fashion - our waiter brings a complimentary ‘house favorite’ appetizer- the burrata with pesto and oven roasted tomatoes.

pure delight.
ok. you need to be a professional to carry on from here.
we order the pizza -for which they are so renowned.

escarole - fontina - bagna cauda - guanciale & topped with egg. the crust is airy and crispy.

no room for dessert- but who cares. too tempting to pass up.
we order the butterscotch budino with salty caramel and delicious pinenut rosemary cookies.
and spotting our neighbors dessert of lemon gelato pie we order that too.
yes ! we are gluttons for good food.
and well worth every bite !
Good eats in L.A !
