    well there’s a new kid on our block at 43rd & duval in the hyde park neighborhood - and there’s gonna be a rumble.

    Antonelli’s - a temple to cheese !   has opened recently to rave reviews and much ado about fromaggi.

    we at ASTI Trattoria were all too excited to meet our new neighbors john & kendall - two cheese “nerds” ( i mean cheesemongers ) with passion-commitment & dedication to cheese. 

    and a bit of charcouterie too ( truffle salami ) !

    enter into this intimate shop to the welcoming voices of john & kendall-

    “hey- what are you looking for today”  - “can we taste you on a great new cheese we just got in” ?

    it’s one thing to taste a great cheese - but quite another to have an accompanying story about it that just makes for an incredible experience.

    i love a good roquefort.  but how about one that is still hand ladled by a 92 year old man - jaques carles to be specific. and did you know that a true roquefort comes from one designated cave in this one small town that is shared by only 8 licensed families ?

    who knew ? and that’s why this cheese at $39.99 a pound flies out the door.

    and how about the renata from Sally Jackson Cheese in washington. this is a one cow cheese. (her name is renata).  how special is that.

    or an ash covered goat cheese - super fresh - made locally by a 22 year old who raises and milks her goats and makes the cheese with a little help from her family. this midnight chevre is from CKC Farms in blanco, texas.

    john & kendall excitedly share their knowledge of the culture - history and love that goes into making a particular cheese. it’s an appreciation not to be taken for granted or tasted lightly.

    coming soon !  we are matching the Antonelli’s passion and expertise with that of our wine director josh loving of FINO Restaurant Patio & Bar.  the ‘chef’s table series’ will host “wine cheese & conversation” - every 6-8 weeks.  kick off is may 17th with cheese & sparkling wine.
